The Daily Wire and its affiliates are once again promoting the idea that the phrase “Christ is King” has been co-opted by extremists and is now an anti-Semitic slogan meant to manipulate Christians.
‼️I need to warn you about something! The term CHRIST IS KING has been a declaration of shared Christian values for generations, but shocking research by @ncri_io at @RutgersU compiled in a report I co-authored with Dr. @jordanbpeterson demonstrates that this iconic phrase is… pic.twitter.com/crYbYwT0BA

A newly published study (March 13) from The Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) claims that online extremists and fringe influencers hijacked the phrase in 2024. According to the study, key findings include:
- Top influencers promoting the phrase on X in 2024 included:
- Candace Owens – labeled a Nazi sympathizer
- Sneako – a Muslim masculinity influencer
- Jake Shields – a Holocaust denier
- Engagement with the phrase increased sevenfold compared to 2021, when it was primarily used by moderate Christian voices.
- Hateful posts (as flagged by machine learning) rose from 9% in 2021 to 17.3% in May 2024—indicating a shift toward extremist propaganda.
- Google Trends data shows a 400% increase in search interest for the phrase, peaking in March 2024. Previously, spikes in usage were linked to Christmas and Easter, but they now align with extremist activity.
The Daily Wire's Coordinated Response
Several Daily Wire employees, who previously criticized the phrase around the time Candace Owens was fired, have resurfaced to validate this study.
Jeremy Boreing, CEO of The Daily Wire, suggested that people using “Christ is King” are not necessarily saved, writing on X:
“There is a reason Jesus Christ the King says that not everyone who calls Him Lord will be saved.”
He added:
“There is an important effort to encourage Christians to be discerning about the motives of some malefactors who would exploit the language of faith in order to foster evil.”
Boreing’s emphasis on Christian discernment is ironic, considering his public support for the COVID vaccine—something his co-founder Ben Shapiro also endorsed, even calling unvaccinated people “dopes.” If Boreing couldn’t recognize one of the biggest deceptions in modern history, what qualifies him to lecture Christians on discernment?
Moreover, Boreing’s Zionist beliefs raise further questions. Would he prioritize his allegiance to Israel over his so-called faith? His self-proclaimed title, “God-King,” hardly aligns with the humility and servitude expected of a Christian. What kind of Christian does he even claim to be?
Andrew Klavan's Take
Another Daily Wire figure, Andrew Klavan, reinforced the idea that those using “Christ is King” may not be true Christians. While this could be valid in some cases, it’s worth noting that Klavan himself is Jewish although he masquerades as a Christian influencer much like Jordan Peterson.
Klavan also believes that Jews who reject Christ can still go to heaven. So, why is a non-Christian making pronouncements about Christian faith and doctrine?
Wow. It turns out the only real difference between me and the people who say "Christ is King," is that I believe Christ is King. https://t.co/ZeW64fnkiG

Jordan Peterson's Take
Jordan Peterson was listed as a contributor to the report, though his exact role remains unclear. He has also sided with his Daily Wire colleagues in opposing former colleague Candace Owens.
Peterson referred to Owens as “a true Pharisaical pretender,” implying that her faith is insincere and merely a tool for self-promotion. He further stated:
“Her outrage is designed not to shout the truth from the rooftops, build bridges, or make peace, but to subvert Christianity itself.”
This stance aligns with the report’s broader claim that the phrase “Christ is King” has been co-opted to undermine Christianity.
Candace Owens @RealCandaceO a true Pharasaical pretender. She vociferously proclaims her devotion to Christ for no other reason that to elevate her perceived status. Her outrage is designed not to shout the truth from the rooftops, build bridges or make peace, but to subvert… https://t.co/KmJ0ugBXAJ

Who Wrote This Report?
According to Wikipedia, the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) studies a variety of topics, including QAnon supporters, militia and boogaloo movements, anarcho-socialist networks, antisemitism, racial supremacism, and other forms of xenophobia. The institute has also conducted research on the spread of disinformation and bias from state actors such as Iran, Russia, and China.
A look at NCRI’s leadership team reveals that its members are not Christian and are unlikely to be conservative. Many of them are of Jewish background.

The report was created by a number of individuals most of whom are Jewish, there are also two Indians listed, a Zionist Reverend and Jordan Peterson. Here's the page from the report.

The irony
It’s peculiar that a report centered on a Christian topic was written primarily by individuals who do not believe in the divinity of Jesus or the phrase “Christ is King.”
The intent behind this report is obvious, yet its publication is almost laughable. Rather than engaging in an open debate, they resorted to spending thousands of dollars to produce an ADL-style report in an attempt to validate their baseless claims. Now, whenever someone utters “Christ is King,” they can cite this manufactured study as supposed proof of extremism.
The arrogance, pride, and distain that it takes to publish a study like this is outrageous. With the sole intent to gate keep Christianity and isolate individuals who do not bend the knee to foreign nations.
What’s next? Will they push for laws restricting this type of speech simply because they were offended when their Zionist propaganda was exposed?
