Liberal voices tend to dominate Hollywood. But several high-profile figures who have chosen to embrace conservative causes, back Republican candidates, and take a stand against mainstream narratives.
There’s the best-known cases: Arnold ran for governor and flipped California to the GOP in 2003. Ronald Reagan, a former actor, became President in the 80s. They’re not alone, though. These celebrities refuse to fall in line with the usual Hollywood herd mentality, and they’ve done so with a good amount of confidence.
Five Conservative Celebrities Who Aren’t Afraid to Stand Out
While the entertainment industry may often lean left, these conservative celebrities aren’t afraid to speak their minds. Let’s take a look at some of the most influential conservative celebrities in Hollywood,
Mel Gibson
Mel Gibson has long been one of Hollywood’s most outspoken conservative figures. Known for his roles in Braveheart and for directing The Passion of the Christ, Gibson has never been shy about his political leanings. He’s publicly supported Donald Trump and even made some controversial comments about Vice President Kamala Harris: He said she has the “IQ of a fencepost.” His views may not always sit well with the Hollywood elite, but that hasn’t stopped Gibson from building a successful career. He’s a perfect example of someone who isn’t afraid to buck the liberal trend in Hollywood. For those who claim he’s washed, he recently had a low-key comeback, acting as a well-meaning cop in the excellent crime thriller Dragged Across Concrete.
Buzz Aldrin
When you think of Buzz Aldrin, you probably think of the man who walked on the moon. But he’s also got some strong opinions on politics, especially when it comes to space exploration. Aldrin has spoken publicly about his support for Donald Trump, particularly to praise the former president for making space a top priority during his administration. Aldrin, who dedicated his life to space exploration, saw Trump as a champion of NASA’s future.

A half-Century ago, it was an honor to serve my country in the effort to put a human being on the Moon. I am proud of what we accomplished then and I have dedicated my life to the pursuit of an enduring human presence in space – it is a calling that runs…
Kelsey Grammer
Kelsey Grammer has been around for decades and he’s always stayed true to his conservative beliefs. Best known for playing Frasier Crane on Frasier, Grammer has been a steady voice in Hollywood’s conservative corner. He’s supported Republican candidates, including Donald Trump, and doesn’t shy away from speaking out about issues that matter to him. Despite his conservative views, Grammer’s career hasn’t been affected by Hollywood’s left-wing tilt.
Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne is one of the most unlikely conservative voices, but he’s shown support for several conservative causes, particularly around criminal justice reform. He endorsed Donald Trump in 2020 and 2024, largely because of the president’s efforts to reform the criminal justice system. Trump helped secure Wayne’s release from prison after a gun charge, which beyond question strengthened their relationship.
I want to thank President Trump for recognizing that I have so much more to give to my family, my art, and my community. I also want to thank @bradfordcohen for working so diligently to secure another chance for me. Love!

Adam Sandler
Adam Sandler is not so vocal about politics, but his conservative leanings are clear. Sandler is a registered Republican and has supported conservative causes. He even donated to Rudy Giuliani’s presidential campaign back in 2007.
Clint Eastwood
The easiest cliché around western legend Clint Eastwood is to say his characters would be Republican. That’s true, but the real man is also a conservative voice. It’s unclear whether he’s supporting Trump or not—some outlets say that he did, others say he didn’t—but he’s mostly sided with the GOP during his career. Back in the eighties, he ran for mayor at Carmel-by-the-Sea as an independent, but still ran on a platform of deregulation and anti-bureaucracy. A DOGE forerunner, in his own way.
