More than 17,000 acres have been burned in LA's most destructive fires, yet while the wildfires rage, there have been disturbing reports of arson.

According to at least two sources, people in Studio City, Sun Valley/Burbank, and Santa Monica area have been lighting fires.

Health podcaster, Andrew Huberman, posted a video on in the early hours of the morning which shows a group of people lighting a fire in what looks to be an empty lot.

This clip has gone viral on 𝕏. Elon Musk even responded to the post, writing, "Wow." Many users were wondering what the motive being setting fires in urban areas of the city. "I have no idea," wrote Huberman.

There is speculation around whether these fires were intentional. There have been criticism against Governor Gavin Newsom and his administration around certain environmental decisions that have led to the severity of these fires. It's also been reported that many fire hydrants are without water, leaving firefighters on the sidelines.

But this was not the only report about arson in LA, Xaviaer DuRousseau suggested that masked men were going around 'starting fires.' This was also posted in the early hours of the morning around the same time Huberman posted.

Xaviaer went on to say, "Police reports made in Studio City and Sun Valley/Burbank area." It's difficult to confirm whether this is true.
