Two synagogues in Sydney, Australia were graffitied over the weekend with Swastikas and 'free Palestine' slogans. The state premier has labelled the attacks as a 'massive escalation' in anti-Semitism.
Members from the Jewish community have blamed the Australian PM and the Australian Labour Party for normalizing antisemitism in Australia.
Australia citizens were surprised to learn that there was a Jewish community in the country. What are Jewish people doing all the way over in Australia? And why is there a holocaust museum in Sydney?
Many interesting questions. The police have released an image of the alleged arson. It might be too soon to say, but judging by the beard and completion, the culprit looks like a Muslim man.
Surprisingly, many people don't believe these recent attacks to be authentic. One comment said, "Jews fake hate crimes for support." A large account called the Gentile News Network™ wrote, "The false flags are getting more and more obvious."
Unfortunately, the Jewish community does have a history of fake hate crimes. There have been numerous stories over the years when Jewish individuals have drawn Swastikas and anti-Semitic phrases on property to get a public reaction. And they've severely punished any white man associated with these nationalist movements. One Australian man was even sentenced to 12-months in prison for doing the Nazi salute.
But unsurprisingly, these attacks did not come from 'far-right' groups but from other foreigners in Australia. Likely those from an Islamic background who apparently who don't want to get along with the Jewish community.
It's unlikely the current government will do anything beyond condemning the attacks on the basis of multiculturalism. But really, shouldn't these groups take their political views elsewhere? Strange that Australians have to mediate between all these opposing factions.
