For years, Tucker Carlson has been an active promoter of the Swedish nicotine pouch brand, Zyn. He has appeared on huge podcasts such as the Theo Von, This Past Weekend, and the Full Send podcast and mentioned his love for nicotine pouches while flashing his favoured brand.
But Carlson's relationship with Zyn, and it's parent company, Philip Morris abruptly ended after the company released a statement following Carlson's Theo Von appearance where Carlson made a joke about the tobacco product. “The truth is, Zyn is a powerful work enhancer, and also a male enhancer—if you know what I mean,” he said to Theo while laughing.
Following Carlson's appearance, Philip Morris released a statement addressing his comments. “While we understand that these may be Mr. Carlson’s views, or made in jest, these statements lack a scientific foundation,” the tobacco company wrote. “Given Mr. Carlson’s popularity and reach, these statements could promote a misunderstanding and misuse of our products.”
Speaking with The Wall Street Journal, Tucker responded to the company's statement, saying, “of course I wasn’t making a medical claim about their product."
The tobacco company's stiff response, annoyed Carlson so much that he decided to launch his own product. "I’m going to launch my own product that’s not controlled by, you know, humorless, left-wing drones."
Another reason why Tucker Carlson split with Philip Morris was due to their political affiliations. "I'm embarrassed to say it, it's made by a huge company, huge donors to Kamala Harris, I'm not gonna use that brand anymore," Carlson said. "I mean, I think it's fine...for like your girlfriend or whatever, but I don't think men should use that brand. It starts with a 'Z'"
