Last night (Nov 16) at the star-studded UFC 309 event in Madison Square Garden, Jon Jones, the Heavyweight champion celebrated his TKO victory against Stipe Miocic, by doing the "Trump dance." He then gifted his championship belt to the incoming president before starting a "USA" chant in the arena. You can watch the full clip below.
Before the championship, fight, Dan White escorted Trump and his entourage ringside as the crowd roared. "I wish the people at home could hear the sound in this room," said Joe Rogan who was commentating. "It's so loud... It's always loud when he [Trump] comes in, but now that he's the won, now that he's the president again, oh my God."
At ringside, sat President Donald Trump and his entourage, which included Elon Musk, RFK Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, Kid Rock, Speaker of the house Mike Johnson and his Trump's two sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr.
The showdown between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic concluded after three round when Jones took down Stipe with a hard kick to the ribs before finishing him with multiple blows to the head. Jones celebrated his victory by doing the "Trump dance" while the president smiled and applauded.
In his victory speech, Jones, a Christian, was quick to acknowledge God, "While everybody is cheering and so happy, I want to acknowledge Jesus Christ" to which the crowd cheered. "I cannot take credit for a gift like this, man. I really owe it all to him." And went on to tell the audience and viewers around the world that "Jesus loves you so much."
He ended his post-fight speech by saying, "I also want to say a big, big thank you to president Donald Trump for being here tonight."
After Jones exited the ring, he handed Trump his belt, and they locked hands exchanging a few words. Jones could be heard telling Trump how nervous he had been, and he told Trump, "I'm so glad you're the next president."
